Buses

Various bus services are available locally, either from the bus station in the town centre, or the nearest bus stops to Abbotswood, which can be found on Woodley Lane to the south.

As well as bus services to and from Romsey town centre, there are other services to Salisbury, Southampton, North Baddesley, Eastleigh, Winchester, Ampfield, and Braishfield to name but a few.

Trains

Romsey rail station is only a 9-minute cycle ride or 28-minute walk away, via traffic-free Canal Walk, and offers rail travel to a variety of destinations including Southampton, Salisbury, Eastleigh, Portsmouth, Bath, Bristol, and Cardiff. Having travelled along Woodley Lane towards Cupernham Lane, Canal Walk can be accessed via Fishlake Meadows or alternatively, via Homefield / Newlyn Walk / Old Road to the west of Cupernham Lane.

Rail travel to:

  • Southampton Central takes between 13 and 15 minutes with a train every 30 minutes on average.
  • Eastleigh takes between 13 and 36 minutes with a train every 30 minutes on average.
  • Salisbury takes between 18 and 25 minutes with a train every 30 minutes on average.
